A historical home in Bisbee,
the Oliver house is haunted by several spirits. Edith Oliver built
the house for executives of the various mining companies until they
all merged in the Dodge Phillips corporation.
The house has also served as a boarding house
for miners. Twenty seven people have died in the home since its
construction. The house is also the scene of a unsolved murder.
In the late 1800's, Nathan Anderson was shot
between the eyes in the room at the top of the staircase. It is
rumored that Anderson was bedding the wife of a local policeman
who shot them both before heading downstairs to kill everyone in
the parlor.
He then committed suicide.
Today the house is a Bed and Breakfast,
tucked away in Bisbee. |
In the Grandma room a older lady died of natural
causes and seems to stay in the residence as a kind of protector. She
moves the rocking chair and prefers to rock in front of the window. She
is seen late at night in the room, either in the rocking chair or dusting
the room.
People staying in the Purple Sage room
have witnessed the shutters and doors opening and closing by themselves.
The Plum room has moving cold spots and people have the feeling of being
watched.
Doors open and close in the hallways.
Footsteps have also been heard.
The Oliver House Bed and Breakfast was our choice
of accommodations during our stay in Bisbee. We were accompanied on this
ghost by by DJs and staff from 93.7 KRQ (Tucson) to prerecord a Halloween
program for the Donovan Show.
We started out by doing EM sweeps of both
floors of the building and then focusing on the areas where we found interesting
EM fields. The three main areas of reported activity, the Purple sage
Room, the Plum room and the Grandma room all had unusual fields associated
with them. Many of the fields would move about and then vanish completely.
We also detected unusual EM fields in
the "Murder Room". Video shot in this room shows
an "orb-like" object as it moves out from the center of the
bed. A strong D/C electromagnetic field is detected before the
object turns and flies into an investigator's chest, who is lying on the
bed. She immediately gets a very unpleasant feeling and has to leave the
room. The timing of these events is what makes this video interesting.
After the ghost hunt, the Team hunkered
down in their individual rooms for the remainder of the night. Cody and
Bob shared the "Murder Room" but did not have anything unusual
happen during their stay.

Cody points out an
area where a strange electromagnetic field is being detected. As
he shows the area where the field is, an "orb-like' object
moves towards the center of the picture from the left bottom of
the frame.
This object is interesting because
it vanishes in center frame. Dust and airborne pollutants move across
the picture, exiting the frame as the particle moves in front of
the camera lens. |
 |
More "orb-like" objects
in this video clip although the last two are probably dust particles.
The most interesting "orb' originates from the center of the
dresser and moves off towards the left of the picture.
A strong D/C field was detected
during this particular occurrence. |
 |
This video was shot in a room
where several murders took place.
In the first section an "orb-like"
object moves out from the center of the bed as a strong D/C electromagnetic
field is detected.
The object then flies into an investigator's
chest, who is lying on the bed. She immediately gets a very unpleasant
feeling and has to leave the room. |
 |
Nothing serious here, just a little
bit of "ghostly" humor at the Oliver House. |
 |
In addition to several
video clips, we also got several interesting images. The picture
of the second floor hallway (left) was taken after a EM field of
9 milligauss was detected and being measured.
The "white mist" in this
photo and the one taken after it, actually block the view of the
investigators in the hallway. The third picture was taken down the
hall right as the EM field scaled downwards to zero on the meter.
It contained nothing of interest and was "normal". |
